FRAMING! We are in the framing stage! It’s been raining off and on this month so progress is slow but it’s progress!

It took Shah Jahan 20 years to build the Taj Mahal for Murntaz Mahal, I keep telling myself when thinking about it going on 2 years since we purchased our “piece of dirt”. We didn’t do anything with it the 6 months, not knowing if we would keep it as our second home, rental home or what. When we decided to rehab the 2 bedroom existing home into our dream home we called an Architect. It took a year of meeting with the Architect every few weeks to get the plans about perfect. That was the first stage. The second stage was the basement; digging and pouring, that took months as well. So I’m expecting this “Framing Stage” as being just as slow (but hoping not)!. This picture shows the north end walls up.

The process is so much fun, we are creating as we build; changing room sizes, wall locations, ceiling heights, etc. I’m usually good at visualizing spaces, but that in an existing structure that is going to be redesigned, not from paper to walls! It’s so cool to see 2D blueprints in 3D real life! Things feel different in 3D!
